Queensland Symphony Orchestra brings an intoxicating mix of Latino fire and street beats to the Proms.

To open the program QSO teams up with international star beatboxer, Tom Thum, to  present Thum Prints, a musical watershed that hovers somewhere between jazz, hip-hop and an off-the-wall Rite of Spring. Tangles of symphonic colour mix with electrifying grooves.

Catch that breath for a moment as the music segues into Gershwin and Bernstein with a dazzling display of orchestral colour and infectious Latin American rhythms under the baton of QSO Music Director designate, Alondra de la Parra.

Continue the South American theme, as Argentinian pianist Sergio Tiempo joins QSO for the virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 1 by his compatriot Alberto Ginastera.

This is a concert event like nothing you have seen before.

Running time: 1 hour, 40 minutes including 20-minute interval.
