Jeremy Holland-Smith will be conducting the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for Proms 3 and 4 – Life Story in Concert – on Friday 15 April and on Saturday 16 April live at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne.
Jeremy is a composer, orchestral arranger and conductor who has amassed an extensive range of work in film, television, ballet and theatre over recent years.
Jeremy’s musical training started from a young age as Head Chorister at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London and went on to study at London’s Junior Guildhall School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, winning numerous prizes at both.
As a composer and arranger for screen and theatre, Jeremy’s most recent projects include composing the score for the feature film Stanley, orchestrating and conducting the score for A Royal Night Out (dir. Julian Jarrold), composing his second full-length ballet, The Secret Garden, for The Sarasota Ballet (dir. Will Tuckett) and, of course, his work with Murray Gold on Life Story and Doctor Who. Jeremy has also scored BBC series Frankie and The Dumping Ground, the ITV film Doors Open and continues to work on the hugely successful BBC series, Musketeers, as orchestrator and conductor.
As a conductor Jeremy has worked with many orchestras including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Philharmonic, BBC Concert Orchestra and the Brussels Philharmonic.
